Monthly Wrap-Up: December

What I read, what I watched, what I did, and everything else :)
How was your December?

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
I ate too much cheesecake because, well, it's cheesecake and it was available. And I got some lovely presents from my family which included MONEY TO BUY BOOKS AND I'M SO EXCITED AND I'M ALREADY CHOOSING WHICH ONES TO GET <3
I also got an Amazon Kindle Fire from my cousins, which shocked me like heck because I was not expecting it. It's so awesome and I love it (although I won't be using it to read books because I really don't like e-books ;)

In other news, I finally bought my 2017 diary and it's so pretty and pink! I was going to get a turquoise one, but I then I saw the pink and I just couldn't resist.

Buying this beauty also means that I can toss my 2016 diary into storage along with all my review notes from my 2016 reads.
Ta ta purple diary and all my messy scribbles!

  1. Now you wouldn't be excited by your library grab would you?!! *grins* There is nothing better than when you get hold of the book you really wanted to get! I love the first Ocean's Eleven film and I liked Sisters Red when I read it years ago. Nice list!

  2. I too ate too much cheese cake this christmas :) It really is the best cake of all! And loving your TBR pile - Huge yay for a court of Thorns and Roses. Also I really loved the Luxe... however I wasn't too fond of how the trilogy ended but its certainly a story that will keep you on your toes. I hope you enjoy it. All the best for 2017!

    1. Haha *high five*. Yes, it's SO amazing; my favourite dessert by far :) Hehe.
      Thank you!
Glad you loved The Luxe :) I read the third book in the series a while ago (totally wrong way to do it, I know, but it was the only book I could get my hands on at the time) and I liked it, but didn't love it. But I'm looking forward to reading the series from the start.
Thank you, same to you! <3

  3. I'm glad you had a good Christmas!! A Court of Thorns and Roses is SO GOOD! ACOMAF fell really flat for me, but at least the series started off so positively.

  7. That's awesome, Amy! Just for the record, I think money is one of the best presents, especially for readers who's families can never remember which books they want ;-)

I think my reading and watching for December was reduced to some of my old manuscripts I went through for fun and The Santa Clause XD I hoping to set a reading goal for 2017 and add some variety though!

My wrap-up is one the way :D

    1. Haha totally; I always prefer money over anything else, lol :)

Oooh that's cool! I like reading through my old manuscripts (accept when they're cringy and I start to hate my writing.....lol). Happy reading for 2017! I hope you get to read more variety :)

      Yay! Can't wait! <3

  10. Great January TBR, hope you enjoy ACOTAR as much as everyone else, I couldn't imagine starting this book with the amount of hype it has around it. I love the series but hype sometimes puts me off book, and I am glad to see you haven't been but off by it.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, I was very nervous to start it, and even more nervous now that I'm reading it and not enjoying it!! Urgh. Very true, it's so intimindating.
      Have a lovely day :)

    2. Oh no! I hate when that happens I was like that with Shadow and Bone, I went into it with such high expectations because everyone who read similar books to me was raving about it so much. But when I got around to reading it myself I was disappointed and didn't continue on with the series! I also experienced it similar with Truthwitch, I have never seen a book series hyped as much as that one (even before it was released) but when I read it for myself (although I did enjoy it) it wasn't half as good as I was expecting. So disappointing but I guess it does highlight everyone's individuality when it comes to their reading taste. ;)

    3. Ah no I'm sorry about that! I haven't read that book, but I've heard of it. But yeah, it's hard; especially when you have to review it afterwards and you feel SO in the minority!
That's really interesting to know, but I'm sorry you had such a bad time with those books :( You're right, I guess it all comes down to our individual tastes, and I don't think anyone no one should criticize us for them.

  13. What a TERRIFIC post, Amy!! I can see that you had a WONDERFUL holiday season!!

I envy you for being able to read fast....I barely got in three books in December, and that's because I didn't finish one of them, lol. They were all Christmas-themed romance novels.

All of the books you read look FABULOUS, too! Well, except for the Nicholas Sparks book. I don't like his stories, as they're much too sad. But I think that's just me....

I like all of the books on your TBR, too, with one exception again, and that's ACOTAR. I had mixed feelings about that one, to be very honest.

You sure got some nice presents!! But I'm just like you -- I don't like e-books, either. In fact I just barely tolerate them. However, it's still nice that your cousins got you a Kindle. I wish my family was as supportive of my book addiction, lol.

I didn't eat that much cheesecake, but I did drink a bit too much eggnog, lol. The Christmas season just seems to demand that we eat and drink things we really shouldn't....and we don't, either the rest of the year! :)

The only movie I saw during the holiday season was "Rogue One", and I didn't like it at all! Sorry to be so negative.... :( But now I'm looking forward to seeing "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them", and "Lala Land"!! Those two are supposed to be TERRIFIC!!

    1. P.S. I almost forgot to mention your pink diary. LOVE it!! But I like purple, too. And blue is my absolute favorite color! And what a GREAT idea, to take notes on the books you read, so you can then review them! I should start doing that, as well. Maybe I'll add this to my New Year's resolutions! Have an AWESOME week!! <3 :)

    2. THANK YOU MARIA!!

Lol ;) Ah no, shame! I hope you get to read more this year, then! Christmas themed romances sound lovely, though :)

They do, right?! I'm so glad I got to read them! Lol, yeah his are real tear-jerkers :(

I've just finished ACOTAR and it honestly wasn't as great as I'd hoped :( I'm relieved to find you feel the same! I've been feeling SO in the minority, lol ;)

Thanks! WHEW someone else is with me! I often feel so stupid for refusing to read them, but it just isn't the same.
      Lol!

Oooh nice, I've never had eggnog! Lol, that's so true!

Oh COOL I haven't seen that one yet! But shame, sorry you didn't like it :( I'm probably going to give it a miss too, since I'm not a big Star Wars fan.

YES YES I AM SO HYPED FOR LA LA LAND! EMMA STONE AND RYAN GOSLING DANCING AND SINGING YES YES PLEASE!! Lol. Please tell me what you think when you see it! <3 IT'S GOT SUCH BRILLIANT REVIEWS, AND I AM SO EXCITED!!

That's so cool to know, I must remember that :) BLUE!
Lol, it's such a great to keep track, I find. And since I'm OCD organised, etc, it totally works for me :)
Have a lovely week and thanks for stopping by!
