Weekly Round-Up: No reading or watching, what has happened to my life??!!

I didn't read or watch anything this week. (Let's observe a moment of silence.) It is very tragic, but I'll start reading again on the 1st of March. Which isn't too far away.
But I did do something exciting this week: last night I went to see Twelfth Night performed at our local Open Air Theater, and it was an amazing experience! I love Shakespeare, and this was the first time I'd seen one of his plays performed live. It was wonderful.

In other news, IT'S THE OSCARS TODAY!! I'm rooting for Emma Stone to win Best Actress (although I'm partial to Natalie Portman, too) and I'm hoping for Andrew Garfield for Best Actor (yes, that was a Stonefield-fueled decision...). I'm sure La La Land will pick up many of the awards, too.
It should be a very exciting night!  I haven't watched any of the nominated performances or films yet, but I'm gonna rent them as soon as they come into our dvd store. It always takes a while... *sighs*

Posts of the week:

Book Review: The Year I Met You

Book Review: Time Between Us

Movie Review: The Great Wall

Book Review: The Echoes of Love

Some review copies also arrived from authors! So excited to start these :)

(The first book is an ARC).

How's your week been? Please tell me you read or watched at least SOMETHING?!

  2. My reading week has been rubbish. Health issues affected my concentration so I needed good books to keep me occupied and it didn't happen! It was all apocalypse books but these ones overdosed on political preaching, info dumps and sexist characters. Yuck! Lets hope for a better week for both of us next week!

  3. I had a sudden craving to read a classic for whatever reason, so I started The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde. I've also been reading novels by Stephanie Perkins :-)

  4. Yay Oscars! I will be sleeping bc here it's night, but I go on a trip early morning tomorrow, which means I'll watch some of the last categories.
The only one I am excited to see s Leo Di even if he's not nominated. I'm rooting for Lion to score Best Picture!

  5. No reading? Ack! The horror! :) Live theater is always so much fun. I love the experience. I don't plan on watching the Oscars (tbh, award shows bore me senseless LOL) but I hear nothing but raves for La La Land so I imagine it will do well. Have fun watching!

  6. I find I've got to read at least something during the week! It's always a goal to read at least one book entirely! Lol! Totally forgot about the Oscars. They never have any movies that I care to see so I find that I don't really care who wins! LOL! I found that usually the MTV Movie Awards have all the good movies up for awards, LOL! But I stopped watching those some years ago because Twilight was constantly winning everything just because it was Twilight and it aggravated me to no end! LOL!

The reads are totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them both!

    Here's my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

I always enjoyed watching Best Kiss awards, etc. Those were fun :)

Thanks Jessica! Have a lovely week ahead :)

  7. Oh wow!!!!!!!!!! Twelfth Night must have been amazing!

Sorry you've had a rough reading/watching week! But I'm glad you've had a pretty good week regardless!

I'm not watching the Oscars but I hope that the people you are rooting for get somewhere. I also love Natalie Portman and I will eventually watch Jackie... You know, one day.... It's a pity my books don't read themselves sometimes! :)

Hope you have a great week and I'll endeavour to stay 'online' this week! Hopefully not so many power cuts etc?? I can hardly blame everything for falling apart though - did you see the skiing on the roads video on my roundup post!? It's been manic. :)

Will chat again soon! Let me know about SOC!!

Sadly, I'm in the same predicament as you '^^
I seriously could not find ANYTHING to read or watch. And I do mean NOTHING. This week I felt something I so rarely feel... boredom.
Gahh, let's hope for more excitement in March, shall we?
Also, what do you like to watch? Are you a TV shows obsessed like myself, perhaps? (:

  15. The Oscars were definitely exciting! I am so happy that La La Land won so many things, and that The Jungle Book won for their graphic design. And Emma Stone <3 YAS she totally deserved it! A shame about the mess up though, because it stole the spotlight from truly being on Moonlight when they won...

    1. Yes agreed!!
Ah yes, I'm SO happy for Emma <3 And her speech was so amazing.
Lol, shame. That was so awkward. But the LA LA Land group handled it really well.
