Weekly Round-Up: Reading and Life

My week was a real mix of emotions. It was my birthday on Wednesday and I turned 17, and that was both awesome and scary. We got pizza for supper and I got some wonderful presents (the awesome part) but in the evening I was feeling really down and flustered and had a splitting headache that was making me sick.  Also, 17 seems really old (the scary part).

The rest of the week didn't go so well. Thankfully I passed my science test on Friday and the studying did pay off, but I'm just feeling...out of it. I think I'm also going through a blogging phase where I think every one of my reviews suck and my blog is basically terrible and my writing is awful.
Hopefully this week will go better.

Posts of the week:

Film Review: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
Book Review: CARAVAL
Book Review: ONE PERFECT LIE
Book Review: THE LOST KNIGHT

Both of these books are the second in their series, and I hope I love them. I'm very hesitant about ACOMAF, but I'm trying to be positive...

I finished these two books this week:
(Review of THUG coming soon!)

I got this BEAUTIFUL DARLING this week, and I've already finished it! IT. IS. AMAZING <3 Review coming soon :)

I won't be reviewing these two films, but I'm so excited to watch them. They both look really good.

On behalf of the Blog Squad, I apologise for not having a post up on Friday! We had some annoying computer issues and couldn't do it. But there are will definitely be one this week, so see you then!

  2. I'm sorry that you're feeling a bit down lately. I hope things start to turn around for you soon! Happy birthday! And I'm almost twice your age, so you're definitely not old! Although, I never would have guessed you're 17 - your blog and writing are so polished! Great work! I think we all go through phases where we doubt our writing, but just know I really enjoy reading your blog.

  3. Happy Birthday!! I'm 17 now (and turning 18 this year), and it's not as intimidating at first. College apps are pretty taxing, though. Your blog is anything but terrible! I wish my blog was as put together as yours. :) I'm looking forward to your review on The Adjustment Bureau! I watched it a couple years ago and from what I remember, really liked it.

  8. Happy Birthday, Amy! Don't feel alone: every blogger goes through phases where they think their reviews/blog just doesn't compare. Persevere.

  10. Sorry to hear you were a bit down on your birthday week. :( Hopefully this week is better. I'm actually listening to ACOMAF now. Doing a reread (on audio this listen) before I start ACOWAR. I loved it when I read it last year and hearing it on audio has been fun. And Letters to the Lost... oh how I loved that one! So, so good. My heart broke for Declan.

  11. Happy belated birthday!! I turn 17 in November and I am kind of scared because it feels a lot older than 16 and everything is going so quickly. 17 is very close to being an adult and I am not ready for that. I'm glad you enjoyed Letters to the Lost so much, I've heard so many great things about it. I'm really looking forward to it.
