Today's Prompt:
"Ten Best Books of 2016"
(regardless of publication date)
Well, I guess this prompt can be rephrased as: "Your favourite books of 2016."
That's how I look at it :)
Oh, and I couldn't think of 10, so I stopped at 7.
Oh, and I couldn't think of 10, so I stopped at 7.
3: The Girl on the Train - by Paula Hawkins
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. (And MUCH better than Gone Girl)
The sequel that improved incredibly upon the first book. And with an ending that shattered my soul and sunk my ship :( <3
5: Splintered - by A. G. Howard
I loved this book for its non-stop excitement, entertainment, and gorgeously vivid writing, even though the sexism was horrendous.
6: How To Fall in Love - by Cecelia Ahern
I shipped the two main characters SO hard it completely absorbed my heart. They made the book.
Brilliantly written but so heart breaking.
Leave your TTT links below so I can visit!
Sisters Red is one I can remember seeing on Goodreads years ago only to have forgotten about it later on. Sounds like it's one I must revisit. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is SUCH a good book, I hope you get to read it soon!
DeleteRoom and Splintered are both brilliant reads! :-) I'm glad that you enjoyed them so much.
ReplyDeleteThey are! I'm glad you loved them too :)

ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten Tuesday
YOU'VE GOT SISTERS RED OH MY WORD I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT YOU THINK OF IT!!!! THAT IS SO EXCITING I HOPE YOU ADORE IT!
DeleteThanks!
Room is one of my all time favourite reads - I definitely see how it made it on to your favourites. Have you seen the film? I haven't myself, but have it on DVD, so am keen to watch it soon.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I've yet to have gone wrong with a Cecelia Ahern read - one of her titles is on my favourite list this year. I started 2016 having read The Marble Collector by her and it stuck in my mind all year long.
Happy reading in 2017!
Yay I'm glad! Oh yes, I actually watched the movie before I read the book; it was AMAZING :) I hope you get to watch it soon.
DeleteOooh I haven't read that one of hers. Glad you enjoyed it :) I just adore her writing <3

I couldn't narrow mine down to anywhere near ten so I picked a different topic and will post all my favourite books tomorrow on a nice big post! I read Sisters Red years ago and thought it was a decent read. I love the covers in the AG Howard series!
ReplyDeleteHaha yeah it's hard! I look forward to seeing that post tomorrow :)

OOOOH YES I LOVE Howard's covers, they're absolutely gorgeous!
I have so many of these on my TBR pile - But Sisters Red has even on my shelf for years. I really need to start reading more than just the new releases!!

Definitely agree with Room! I also have heard everyone talk about how great The Girl on the Train was and I still haven't read it! Gotta give that a go!

Thanks! I'm so glad I got to read all these beauties :) Ooooh yes, you MUST read Splintered and Sisters Red! They're amazing ;)
DeleteSure! <3
Sorry I took unbelievably long to comment back on your post!! I loved Sister Red way back in 2012 when I read. I'm overdue for a reread. I haven't read Splintered yet just because I've heard bad things about the final book. But I'm still interested. :) Thanks for visiting my blog earlier! You've got some great picks here.
ReplyDeleteOh no it's fine!
DeleteYay so glad you did! I think it's one of the best YA retellings I've ever read.
Oooh that's interesting to know. I haven't read the rest of the series yet, but I will. Hope you get to read Splintered soon! That one is good.
Sure! Thanks :)
LOVE the winterkill cover, so pretty just going to have to check it out on Goodreads - the power of a great cover in action ;) I haven't see Sisters Red in ages, Goodreads used to keep recommending it to me, glad to see you enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteDeborah @ Hills of Books
It is beautiful, glad you like it! Lol, yeah the cover is so important when it comes to picking up a book :)
DeleteHaha, I see. Hope you get to read that one soon as well, it's SO good!
Thanks for stopping by :)
You defiantly chose the right cover to feature in this TTT, I have seen the other (less impressive) cover for Winterkill before didn't even recognise it here!
DeleteHaha thanks! Well, that's the cover I had when I read it, so...
DeleteLol, I must actually check out those different covers then!
In my opinion the other cover give me the impression that it's more horror that the one you used!
DeleteOooh wow okay! I must definitely check it out now, lol!
DeleteJust looked at the cover. It definitely is creepier!
DeleteThe shameful thing is that I haven't read any of these books myself... I'm just going to have to hope that I will be able to get to some of these in 2017 :D Glad you could enjoy them all so much :3
ReplyDeleteAh no, shame! I REALLY hope you get to read at least some of them this year! They're SO good :)
DeleteThanks!
Gorgeous list of books and wonderful quotes! There's a lot here that I want to read and some specifically because of you! Thanks for being a blogging buddy this year! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, and yes I love the quotes! Haha, I hope you get to read at least one of them soon; they're SO good :)
DeleteThanks to you, too! I look forward to more chats and blogging conversations :)
