Weekly Round-Up: Watching and Writing

I start school again tomorrow (having had a three week holiday) and I'm so not ready. I've forgotten everything I learnt and I basically just wanna curl up and die.
But there're a few hours before everything falls apart, so I'm trying to savour that.

It's been a productive week. I haven't been reading much, but I've done a lot of writing and plotting for my WIP, and I've also set some firm writing goals for myself for the months to come.

We also got Netflix!! Finally! And I am so overwhelmed by everything I want to watch: Red Riding Hood, Gangster Squad, The Big Short, The 100, Arrow, Gilmore Girls......the list goes on. This week I've just been watching The 100 and Arrow, and lamenting how only the first two seasons of The 100 are available to us (cos of our country and level of membership). Sigh.
But I've been enjoying it so far. It's still got a lot of the book's flaws and the acting isn't always great, but the leads are decent and I love Bellamy, Jasper, Raven and Octavia. Also, can I please marry Bellamy? If not, I'll take Jasper.

Posts of the week:

I'm still reading The Lost Girl, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it :)

  2. Getting Netflix is exciting! I adore Gilmore Girls-- it took me ages to actually sit down and watch it and I was surprised by how much I loved it.

    1. It really is! Ooooh nice, I'm so glad! I didn't like the first episode, but maybe it gets better?

  3. Thank you for the shout-out! Netflix is the best - when we first got it, I was like, do we really need this? But it has been awesome - we have both streaming and disc service, so we get everything they have to offer, and we spend a lot less money going to the movie theater!

  4. Ooh have fun with Netflix! That's too bad that you only get the first two seasons of the 100, but it's better than nothing! The acting is remarkable in the first season, but it does get better! Also, I love Bellamy SOO much. One day Bellarke better happen, and I'm hoping it will be in season 5 this fall!

Okay here's a couple questions for you..
Do you ever feel overwhelmed or uninspired while blogging? What do you do to change that?
How did you decide on your blogger design and your blogger name?
What are some of your favorite posts of yours?

That's all I could think of at the moment! Happy early 1 year anniversary!

    1. Thanks Genni!
Yeah the first few episodes were a little.....well, rubbish. Lol ;) But they have improved.
And YES I want Bellarke to happen! I read up on the later seasons and yeah, season five better get them together! Ah but to wait!!

      Awesome questions, thank you <3

  5. Oh, yay, Netflix and one year blogging anniversary! I'm going to say it again: watch Stranger Things. It uses cliches and tropes popular from the eighties but it feel immensely different and the storyline is super well-written. xD I wish I had Netflix, but going over to friends' houses for certain shows is good enough me right now.

As for questions: can you do an eyebrow wave? Also, describe your current WIP only using five words.

  6. Hurray for Netflix! I don't have Netflix - I refused to get it while in school - but I've always wanted to get it at some point. My sister has an account though, so theoretically I could bother her for her account. :D Congrats on your one-year blogoversary!

Have a great week, Amy. =)

  7. I feel you about going back to school. How are we expected to retain all our knowledge over the holidays??? There are better things to remember, such as the plots to every single book ever. XD

Congrats on your upcoming blogoversary! I have a question for you: "If a library was burning and you could only save five books, which books would you save and why?" :)

  9. Ahhh - NETFLIX! It's awesome. But such a time taker. :) We're still watching Heartland though - Haven't had much screen time lately! Need to catch up on so many shows!

Thanks for the shoutouts this week. Hope you have a reasonable one, even considering that the holidays are over!

  10. I've read one poor book after another this week while watching Game of Thrones S4 with my dad and Masterchef Australia S8 at night. Fun but not productive for reading! At some point I plan to watch The 100 and Arrow but I don't know when. Not enough time in the day!

  11. Ugh. Heading back to school after a break was always so hard. Hope today went well for you.
My question for your blogoversary: Which author (or authors) do you consider auto-buy authors? And you will buy their new books without even bothering to read the synopsis because you know you'll love them.
