Remember how many lies we told, Molly? It’s enough to make my head spin. You were wild when I met you, and I was mad for you. But then something happened. And now you’re gone. But don’t worry. I’ll find you. I just need to sift through the story of us to get to where you might be. I’ve got places to look, and a list of names. The police have a list of names, too. See now? There’s another lie. There is only one person they’re really looking at, Molly. And that’s yours truly.

I've been wanting to read one of Scott's books for a long time, and this premise sounded so awesome.
Glad to say, I really enjoyed her writing. The story is a solid thriller, too; very fast-paced, and completely compelling. It's also clever, with tons of secrets and twisting mystery to keep you guessing until the end.

While the novel is good, it does get far-fetched towards the end. Things resolve uncomfortably (at least from my perspective, because I never liked the main romantic relationship) and the writing spills more melodrama than is necessary. It doesn't ruin the book - it just takes something credible and authentic away from it.

Did you know it, then, that I already belonged to you?
Because I did, you beautiful, wicked girl."

The characters are nothing special. They have their depth, but their backstories are never fully fleshed out. I didn't like anyone, I just tolerated them for the novel's length. For what is a quick, exciting read, they're decent.

The romance isn't a romance - not really. It's a place two lonely, hurting people went to to find something that took them out of their messed up lives. Molly and Cobain are both damaged people with psychological issues, and this makes for a volatile relationship. It's not something you ship; it's something you feel bad for.

We Told Six Lies is a fast, absorbing, and strongly written thriller flick.
